Pion Capture in the Neutrino Factory.


From Nicos Charitonidis
Preparing an experiment with Tungsten powder in 2012. Working with simulations to decide
how many bunches to be send on it. Want to study the thermal deposition on the target.
Next step would be to decide if and what window to use for the beam.
Will show his radio protection studies in 4 weeks.


From C. Hansen,
For the gamma = 350 have started merging simulations with BBPhase.
Working together with Antoine that makes the optimised RF program (input to BBPhase).
Will tomorrow present results from Matching routines implemented in HEADTAIL in
a HEADTAIL development meeting. These routines can then be used to start the
Collective Effect Studies in SPS, since the nonlinear injection will be more reliable
than the old matching routines existed in HEADTAIL.

Writing the minutes for the CERN WP4 meeting.
Starting to organize the WP4 (Beta Beam) baseline together with WP2 (Superbeams)
where both structure, physics reach and costing will be included.
