Beams for European Neutrino Experiments
WP1 PHYSICS

Main Objectives

• Establish the widest consensus on general neutrino physics requirements.
• Define the ultimate scientific reach of the present and future upgrades of CNGS.
• Define the ultimate scientific reach of conventional Super Beams, Neutrino Factories and Beta Beams.
• Provide recommendations for each option on beam energy, baseline, beam structure, composition, flux and monitoring also in view of minimizing the systematic errors.
• Formulate a strategy of measurement of all oscillation parameters based on the above options.

Meetings

Physics meetings are held during the Joint BENE/ECFA Muon weeks held up to four times a year, the annual CARE week and, at special occasions, in one of the participating laboratories. In addition to the regular working group meetings, dedicated workshops are also organized. Agenda of the meetings and slides of presentations can be found under this web page.
